Oakhurst Learning Center Newsletter November 2011
Dear Families,
October was full of adventures. We had a terrific book fare. We earned enough points for about 40 to 50 new books. We have a special thank you to Mrs. Asuto for donating her time in the morning to run our book fare. Our visit from the Indian Rocks Fire Department was once again a great success during Fire Prevention Month. Halloween parties were fun for all! Thank you for all your donations.
NEWS FOR ALL
- Many of our staff will be attending the NAEYC Conference this year. We hope to have a great time and come back with new and interesting ideas to use with the children.
- Picture day can be a little crazy. Please be patient with us. When you get your envelope please be specific as to what background you would like. Please make sure you check off what package you wish and provide the check in the envelope. Please make checks out to Lifetime Memories. You get these back in about a week. Please let Mrs. Stephan know if you are brining other children for the photos.
- The Thanksgiving lunch is for the children only this year. Each room helps prepare the something for lunch. We will take lots of pictures.
- Tuition for Thanksgiving week is the same for the 2 and 3 programs. If you are in the VPK full day program it goes up to $154.00. This is a non-subsidized week. If you are VPK 3-hour there is no school this week but if you need us please see Mrs. Stephan for prices.
- School age will pay $105.00 for the three days. Ms. Cloud will put up a schedule. The children pack their lunches.
- If you are requesting vacation time for this week the last day to turn in your blue vacation request slip is Monday November 7th.
- Yankee Candle will be delivered sometime after November 14th.
- We are doing a community outreach project for the holidays. Sometime toward the end of the month we will be putting up information on donating to families in need. Each classroom will adopt a family. More information will follow.
Have a wonderful November and enjoy the start of the holiday season with your family!
